"Quinns Beach"
This Al Merrick surfboard was surfed by its original owner in many of Western Australia’s sketchiest waves as evidenced by the black stripes on the board’s bottom painted to deter shark attacks along with its collection of damage, including a career-ending crease along the stringer of the board. It is ironic then that this board is saved from a one-way trip to landfill to become the canvas for a painting of Quinns Rocks - one of Perth’s most peaceful beaches.
